When Drumlins Fail: Understanding and Identifying Historic Slump and Mass Movement

The SSSNNE board is happy to present the 2025 Summer Meeting being held September 12th in Weare, NH. Please be aware that this meeting has a limited capacity of 44 people and that the deadline for registration is August 29th. Please see the attached flier for more information and to register.

SSSNNE representatives have met recently with NHAOT about the update of the SSSNNE Publication 5. A minor text edit was requested and made, with no change to the method of assigning Hydrologic Soil Index. The final draft of Publication no. 5 will be available on our website for members to review before the summer meeting.

If SSSNNE votes to adopt the updated Publication No. 5 on 12 September, that can be the ‘publication date’ which NH-AOT needs for their upcoming rule changes. When NH-AOT new rules take effect, projected to be between December 2025 & January 2026, soil scientists will start using the HSI in our soil map reports.
