  1. What is the best resource for converting HISS or SSS mapping data to the essential HSG required by NHDES AoT?

    • The resource to use for converting SSS to HSG is SSSNNE Special Publication No. 5. Converting a High Intensity Soils Map to an HSG is not appropriate, the work product needs to meet the Site Specific Soil Mapping Standards. Converting SSS to HSG is the responsibility of the Soil Scientist who conducted the soil mapping and not an engineer or land surveyor for the project. Everyone needs to read and understand the SSS Standards, especially the Soil Scientist of record.
